Dr. Muhammad Umer Ashraf is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Microbiology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan. He holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), an M.Phil in Microbiology, and a PhD in Immunology, followed by postdoctoral training in South Korea. His research focuses on immunology, host-pathogen interactions, and molecular mechanisms regulating immune responses. Dr. Ashraf’s work spans dendritic cell biology, particularly monocyte-derived dendritic cell (Mo-DC) regulation of adaptive and innate immunity, epigenetic and epitranscriptomic immune regulation, and host responses to viral and bacterial infections. He has also contributed to studies on avian influenza evolution, vaccine adjuvant development, and immune checkpoint signaling. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, scientific articles, and book chapters in reputable journals. In addition to his research activities, he is actively involved in teaching microbiology and immunology courses and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Ashraf is passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and translating immunological discoveries into improved diagnostics, vaccines, and disease control strategies.
