I am a postdoctoral scholar in the Spitzer and Carnevale Labs at UCSF, where I have been conducting research since September 2023. I earned my M.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of Padua, Italy. During my master’s training, I spent a year at Imperial College London through the ERASMUS+ program, where I studied the epigenetic regulation of Friedreich’s ataxia in Prof. Richard Festenstein’s lab. I then completed my Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine at the University of Padua in Prof. Stefano Piccolo’s lab, where my research focused on developing a cell-based vaccine for breast cancer. Now, in the Spitzer Lab at UCSF, I investigate how dendritic cells become functionally impaired during tumorigenesis and use genome engineering approaches to identify strategies to restore their function and enhance anti-tumor immunity.
